A group of councillors from the Congress party in the Malviya Nagar zone of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) protested and raised slogans against the JMC Greater Mayor on Tuesday during a public hearing. The mayor had gone to the zone office for the public hearing when the councillors raised goback’ slogans. The councillors were protesting against rising number of stray animals on roads, lack of cleanliness facilities, and Somya Gurjar, the mayor, hearing all the problems and instructing officials to take action immediately. She said that that the sweepers will work in two shifts and also instructed officials to get their signatures in the attendance register. She directed officials to form a central team for cleaning jln marg roads near the assembly and other VIP routes, and to make sure doortodoor waste collection takes place on a daily basis. She also instructed officials to repair road lights, solve problems of sewer line and change lines wherever necessary in different areas.
