Chhaava becomes biggest Bollywood opening of 2025

has stormed the box office, becoming the biggest Bollywood Day 1 opener as of 4 PM. The film has minted an impressive Rs 13.18 crore, surpassing the previous record held by Sky Force, which collected Rs 12.25 crore on its opening day.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant Maratha warrior and son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai and Akshaye Khanna in a pivotal role of Aurangzeb. Vicky had to go through a lot of pain for the titular role, he had increased his weight till 105 kgs and while shooting for the film he even met with an injury which took him a while to heal. Post Chhaava, Vicky will be joining Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, incidentally this will be his second film both the lead actors actor Sanju and Raazi.
