BPSC CCE 70th exam date: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued a notice regarding the 70th Combined Competitive Examination (BPSC 70th CCE). According to the notice, the commission has dismissed complaints about glitches in the portal. Previously, BPSC was informed that a server defect had prevented a large number of candidates from submitting their applications, leading to demands for an extension of the registration period.
The registration process for the BPSC 70th CCE began on September 23, 2024, and ended on September 28, 2024, with applications initially accepted until October 18, 2024. In consideration of the candidates' interests, the commission extended the deadline to November 4, 2024.
The official notice reads, “In the said period, a total of 4.80 lakh applications were received, out of which 1.30 lakh applications were received with a fee in the last 4 days, which automatically makes it clear that the complaints regarding the fault in the server are baseless. Regarding the extension of the date of the examination, it is to be clarified that the date of said examination has been fixed keeping in view the pre-determined examination dates by the Union Public Service Commission/State Public Service Commission and other examination institutions.” (rough translation)
The notice further clarified that, in the larger interest of 4.80 lakh candidates, the integrated 70th Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination would be conducted on the scheduled date, December 13, 2024, in a single shift.

According to reports, the BPSC issued a clarification on the same day a delegation of protesting aspirants met with senior commission officials, demanding an extension of the exam date. The aspirants claimed that technical issues had prevented lakhs of students from submitting their application forms. They also advocated for a "one shift, one paper" format and opposed the normalization method. In response, the commission confirmed that the BPSC 70th CCE would follow the old pattern and be conducted in a single day.
The commission has already released the admit cards for candidates registered for the BPSC 70th CCE. Initially, the commission announced 1,957 vacancies, but this was later increased to 2,027. The 70th CCE is scheduled to be held on December 13, 2024, in a single shift from 12 noon to 2 pm.
