, who is on a brief family vacation in Melbourne, made a noteworthy visit to the famous
Melbourne Cricket Ground
(
MCG
) recently. The spinner visited the stadium and posed for a picture outside with the statue of his idol, the late
Shane Warne
.
Reflecting on the moment, he shared, "Shane Warne was my idol, and I had a very strong connection with him.
I still get emotional when I think about Warnie - it feels like I've lost someone from my family."
Prior to the five-match Test series later in the year against Australia, Kuldeep is excited for the epic cricket showdown between the two global cricketing titans, as per IANS.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Kuldeep said, "It's great to be here at
Cricket Australia
's headquarters and the iconic MCG. I'm looking forward to the
Border-Gavaskar Trophy
, and we're anticipating a great cricket contest between Australia and India this year."
He also acknowledged the unwavering support of Indian cricket fans, stating, "India cricket fans always support the team around the globe, and I'm confident they will come in big numbers for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, especially during the
Boxing Day Test
."
Kuldeep also took a tour of Cricket Australia's (CA) headquarters when he was in Melbourne. Through an online conversation, CEO of Cricket Australia Nick Hockley extended him a hearty welcome.
An overview of the Australian summer, along with the excitement of India and Pakistan's upcoming tours of the country, was given to Kuldeep by Cricket Australia.
From November 22, Australia and India will play their first Test match at
Optus Stadium
in Perth.
