Biden-Harris fallout in open: Explosive book says Joe would have needed a wheelchair had he won

The explosive details of what transpired between Joe Biden and Kamala Harris when Biden had to step aside from the election endorsing his then vice president are now out in public as a new book is all set to be out on May 20.

CNN's Jake Tapper and Axios' Alex Thompson co-authored the book titled 'Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again".David Plouffe, who was a senior adviser in the White House when Barack Obama was the president -- said Biden totally f**ked Harris' bid for the White House by refusing to drop out earlier. The 107-day campaign against Trump was a "f**king nightmare", he said.

“And it’s all Biden,” he told the authors. “He totally f**ked us.”Plouffe said he repeatedly flagged Biden's mental and physical ability but he was consistently told that Biden could win another election. The book is based on interviews with more than 200 people, mostly Democratic insiders, with knowledge of the events that unfolded during the final two years of Biden's presidency. Almost all of the interviews took place after the 2024 election.

If Biden contested and won...

The book delves into all the scenarios for which the aides were prepared. And one of them was Biden's reelection. Axios cited the book and reported that Biden's physical deterioration was so severe in 2023 and 2024 that his advisers privately discussed the possibility that he might need a wheelchair if he won the re-election. There were internal discussions to put Biden in a wheelchair but they could not do so until after the election.

Biden's aides believed that it would not have sent a good message if Biden used a wheelchair during his re-election campaign. Biden tripped over a sandbag at the Air Force Academy in June 2023, which alerted his aides, who started figuring out shorter walking paths for Biden since then. The revelations from the explosive book became public after Joe Biden's recent medical examination report mentioned a small nodule in his prostate, triggering speculation as to whether Biden is suffering from prostate cancer. A short statement said the finding "necessitated further evaluation,” but it was not clear whether that had already taken place or the outcome of the examination. The detection of nodules in the prostate generally requires a further exam by a urologist to rule out prostate cancer.
