Russian heartthrob Mark Eydelshteyn is back in the headlines, this time for a rather shocking revelation about his movie critically acclaimed film 'Anora'.
The hunk, who has been wooing the ladies with his sitting resemblance to Timothee Chalamet, made a breakout performance in Sean Baker’s comedy that clinched the Palme d'Or at the
Cannes film festival
, thus sparking Oscar buzz.
The young actor’s journey to Hollywood stardom started with an unusual approach - a full nude audition tape. As reported by USA Today, director Baker revealed that young star made a rather bold move while sending in his audition for the film. "He was fully nude, facing away from the camera, butt visible, sunglasses on, smoking and giving this really funny performance," the director shared, admitting, "After that moment, we couldn’t see anybody else for the role."
According to the hunk, the idea to record an audacious audition tape was recommended by his 'Guest From the Future' co-star Yura Borisov. Recalling his prep for the audition tape, he shared that as he wanted to mimic Ivan's opulent lifestyle but lacked high-end clothes, he decided to strip down. He told Variety, "I immediately realised I had to be nude."
Reflecting on the character of Ivan, the actor told USA Today, “He’s trying to save the kid inside himself, but he can’t. His friends aren’t real friends, and partying is just his protection."
In 'Anora', Eydelshteyn plays the role of Ivan, a fast-living son of a wealthy oligarch, splurging his parent's wealth in New York. His antics include lavish spending and a chaotic love affair with Ani, a Manhattan sex worker played by Mikey Madison.
