' has remained a cult over the years since the last few years, even though the film did average at the box office during its original release. It was the only time when Aamir Khan and Salman Khan shared screen space and since then, fans are waiting for both the Khans to re-unite as this union was such a cult. The film also starred Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon.
Now that it has re-released, the film is holding up well at the box office despite the newer releases like 'Kesari 2', 'Ground Zero' amidst others.
'Andaz Apna Apna' earns Rs 1.25 crore in 4 days of re-release
The film made Rs 25 lakh on day 1 and saw growth on day 2, thus minting Rs 30 lakh. The film also remained steady on Monday earning Rs 10 lakh according to Pinkvilla. Thus, the total collection so far, now stands at Rs 1.25 crore in the first four days of its theatrical run. The film had alreadys sold 5500 tickets in the top three national chains - Inox and Cinepolis, for the opening day. On day 5, which is Tuesday, some growth is expected as the ticket prices in PVR Inox chains is at a subsidized rate ranging from Rs 99 to Rs 149.
This is due to the Tuesday movie offer, which facilitates cine-goers to buy tickets at subsidized rates. The ticket price ranges from Rs 99 to Rs 149 every Tuesday only in PVR Inox theaters.
Original collection of the film
When the film first released in 1994, it earned a lifetime net collection of Rs 5.15 crore in India, with a worldwide gross of Rs 7.59 crore. Considering it was nearly 30 years ago, these numbers are seen as decent today. However, at the time of its release, the film was considered a flop.
Thus now, after adding the 4-day numbers of the movie, the total collection now stands at Rs 6.4 crore in India.
'Andaz Apna Apna' also starred Paresh Rawal and Shakti Kapoor in pivotal roles.
