As Ahaan Panday gears up for his much-anticipated Bollywood debut with the romantic drama Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri and backed by Yash Raj Films, an emotional chapter from his early life has resurfaced — and it sounds straight out of a movie script. In a recent vlog, Ahaan’s sister and popular influencer Alanna Panday opened up about her younger brother’s dramatic entry into the world. Joined by their mother, Deanne Panday, the two revisited the harrowing circumstances surrounding Ahaan’s birth — a story never shared publicly until now.Deanne, who is married to Chikki Panday (brother of actor Chunky Panday), recalled being rushed to the hospital over a month before her due date. “Around 42 days early, my water bag started leaking,” she shared.
Alarmed, the family woke up Ahaan’s grandmother, who immediately called the doctor. “He told us to get to the hospital right away,” Deanne said.Upon arrival and examination, doctors discovered all the amniotic fluid had drained. “Ahaan was curled up in a corner,” Deanne recounted. “They rushed me in for an emergency C-section. When he was born, he was so tiny — like the size of a rat. They took him away immediately, and I passed out.”
What happened next stunned viewers. Alanna revealed, “Mom forgot the most shocking part — Ahaan was transported to the NICU in a thermocol box. Can you imagine? That’s how things were 25 years ago. It’s such a filmy story!”Deanne added, “He was wrapped in cloth, placed in that box, and rushed by dadi and nani to Nanavati Hospital. I was kept away from him for a while, but I begged to be taken there despite being in pain and just stitched up.”The story took another emotional turn when Deanne remembered seeing a tiny stick on Ahaan’s leg — a hairline fracture he had suffered during birth. “I spent 10 days in the hospital feeding him,” she said, her voice tinged with the weight of the memory.Despite the traumatic start, Ahaan grew up strong and tall — “He’s 6’3 now!” Alanna laughed, “and I’m the tiny one, even though I had a normal birth.”With 'Saiyaara' set for a July release, Ahaan Panday is all set to step into the limelight. Starring opposite Aneet Padda, and helmed by the master of romance and drama, Mohit Suri, the film promises to be an emotional rollercoaster — not unlike the story of Ahaan’s own birth. From a thermocol box to the big screen — Ahaan’s journey is already the stuff of Bollywood dreams.
