The 76th
Primetime Emmy Awards
will spotlight the best in American prime-time TV from June 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024. This year's celebration features three main categories: the regular Primetime Emmys, the Creative Arts Emmys for technical and behind-the-scenes excellence, and the Engineering Emmys for groundbreaking TV technology.
This year’s Emmys will be held on September 15 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
Indian audiences can catch the ceremony early on September 16, starting at 5:30 AM IST. The show will air on Lionsgate Play and stream on Hulu from September 16 to September 22, with the live broadcast kicking off at 8 PM ET on September 15.
This year’s Emmys will be hosted by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, making them the first father-son duo to lead the ceremony. They are also the first hosting pair since Colin Jost and Michael Che in 2018 and only the second duo to host in the 21st century.
In 2020, Eugene and Dan Levy made history as the first father-son duo to win major awards in the same year, thanks to their groundbreaking work on Schitt's Creek.
This year’s Emmy nominations are led by Shogun, which received 25 nods, including one for Best Limited Series. The show also marked its first acting nominations for Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai. FX achieved a record-breaking 93 nominations, with The Bear contributing significantly, earning 23 nominations—the most ever for a comedy series.
Alongside Shogun and The Bear, FX also secured a comedy series nomination for Reservation Dogs. Meanwhile, Only Murders in the Building received its first acting nomination for Selena Gomez in its third season.
