Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stunned at day 2 as well at the Cannes Film Festival. But clearly, the actress is making sure she represents India proudly at the global platform. While on day 1 she flaunted her sindoor with an ivory saree, for her second look, she opted for a black Gaurav Gupta customised gown with a cape.
She complimented her look with bold red lips and wavy hair, thus giving her usual straight hair a miss. But there is something more to this cape. The brocade cape handwoven in Varanasi has a 'Bhagavad Gita' shlok inscribed on it. Gaurav Gupta shared details as he wrote, "Enveloping her is a Banarasi brocade cape handwoven in Varanasi, India, inscribed with a Sanskrit shloka from the Bhagavad Gita || कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन। मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि || You have a right to perform your actions, but not to the fruits of those actions.
Let not the fruits of action be your motive, nor let your attachment be to inaction.”
Meanwhile, the black gown is from the ‘Heiress of Clam’, a custom creation imagined in a draped form and spiritual detail. The gown is hand-embroidered with an abstract rendition of the cosmos in bursts of silver, gold, charcoal, and black, accented with micro glass crystals to capture dimension and light.Aishwarya was accompanied with her daughter Aaradhya who was also twinning with her in black.
Aaradhya was seen in a black overcoat and leggins with boots and holding her mother's hand. The internet couldn't stop gushing over this mother-daughter duo.Netizens showered love on Aishwarya's look and called her the 'Queen of Cannes' yet again. A user commented, "MY MOTHER CANNESWARYA IS BACK IM LIVING!"
The actress won the internet as she also made sure to greet the international paps and media with a 'namaste' again signifying our Indian culture which she proudly carries globally
