Aamir Khan’s audition tape for Kiran Rao’s critically acclaimed film

has taken the internet by storm. Despite being a Bollywood superstar and the film’s producer, Khan was ultimately rejected for a key role, as director Rao insisted on casting actor Ravi Kishan instead.
The viral audition tape shows Aamir in the police uniform, chewing on paan as he delivers his lines for the audition tape. Khan, reportedly expressed a strong desire to take on the part, however, the director thought that Kishan would be a better fit. Watch the video that was posted on Twitter:
Aamir eventually lost out on the role as Rao reportedly stood firm on her choice, believing Kishan was the perfect fit for the role. The revelation came from Kishan himself during an interview with ETimes, where he praised the director's vision and unwavering support during the casting process. Sharing a surprising behind-the-scenes detail, he said, “More importantly, thanks to Kiran, who was adamant that ‘I want Ravi Kishan.’ Aamir Khan himself wanted to play the role, so hats off to that lady.”
Laapataa Ladies has received widespread acclaim for its unique storytelling and powerful performances. The film even beat out 'All We Imagine As Light' to become India's official entry into the Oscars. Sadly, the film did not make it to the shortlist and could not snag a nomination.
On the work front, Aamir will next be seen on the big screen in the much-awaited film

. The latest buzz indicates that the film's teaser has secured a U certificate with a run time of 79 seconds (1 minute and 19 seconds). As the CBFC certificate was released ahead of the Salman Khan starrer Sikandar release, many assumed that the clip would be attached to the film. However, reports indicate that there is still no clarity on when the teaser will be unveiled.
